Overview

Each level of activity adds value to the document. A captured document on its own, without metadata or a process to re-use the content, has a low value, while one that has been indexed and validated has a much higher value, depending on the extent and value of the process or repository application being served. 

The processes within Document and Content Capture can be described at three levels:

Capturing Incoming Content

Incoming content can be considered in four main ways: paper, microfilm, or electronic. If electronic, the emphasis is first on recognizing the digital format of the document, and understanding how to handle it and capture its metadata without re-keying or recognition. If paper or microfilm, the document is first scanned to create a digital image, from which one may need to extract part or all of the content using recognition technologies.

Processing and Validation

The capture and validation processes to be followed apply equally to both digital and paper content.
Depending on application needs, there will be requirements to classify documents into meaningful groups, index them and conduct validation and quality assurance (QA) processes.
SE Capture includes image pre-processing, document classification, data and text extraction. All the operations are performed automatically on the server.
SE Capture identifies the document type and assembles a document of one or more pages that allow the automatic classification of documents with variable layouts and any complexity.
SE Capture accurately extracts data and text from the fields specific for each document type. It offers:
  • OCR for up to 99% accuracy in English, French, Italian, German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, Spanish and Portuguese,
  • Barcode recognition for a variety of 1D
SE Capture provides a feature to verify the accuracy of the data recognized by OCR and also allows the manual inclusion of information when needed.
With SE Capture, you can complement your rercords by combining external data with information extracted through OCR adding value to the captured information.

The final result of the captured content by SE Capture are indexed documents with high added value for the company.
